About

I'm Dan — a film and television sound specialist based in Leeds, covering both location recording and post-production. I've handled production sound on essentially every film I've worked on, usually as production sound recordist and boom operator, and spent a great deal of time capturing foley and ADR and completing edits and mixes in Pro Tools.

I studied Filmmaking at Leeds Beckett University and spent a year on an Electronic Media and Film course at Towson University in the USA, where I added live sound reinforcement, studio recording and radio production. Alongside sound I have strong video editing experience in Premiere Pro.

Designed all audio for an animated character, recorded ADR, captured and edited original foley, worked with composers on an original score, and handled the final layering and mix. Full professional kit with wireless boom.

Boom operation plus mic setup and lavalier fitting, with production design support. Managed equipment booking at short notice when the original sound recordist was unwell during pre-production.

A fiction piece presented as found-footage uploaded to YouTube — an imitation of online personalities. Shot on professional kit then degraded in post to feel low quality.
